The App

Do I need an account?

You can browse and drop pins without linking, but linking a 6-digit app code is what syncs your pins, notes, photos and routes with dighere.com.au.

Where do I get an app code?

dighere.com.au > My Profile > Get app code. It links this phone to your account. Your website account is not affected.

Can I switch accounts?

Yes. Go to Account & about > Switch account, then enter a different code. Unlinking does not delete your website data.

Does it work with no signal?

Yes, for any area you have saved offline. Use Save map offline before you go. The compass and your pins work offline. Live search and syncing need a connection.

I dropped a pin offline. Will I lose it?

No. It is stored on the phone right away and uploaded on the next sync, even if you were offline when you created it.

How do I plan a route?

Plan track-following routes on dighere.com.au/route, then Sync in the app to bring them onto your phone (and into CarPlay).

What are Dig Here pins?

Computed prospectivity hotspots, scored out of 100 with a signal breakdown. They are suggestions from terrain and geological data, not a guarantee of gold.

Which platforms is it available on?

iOS (App Store / TestFlight) and Android (Google Play).

Is this a legal or safety guarantee?

No. Dig Here is a field navigation aid. Always carry a map and compass, and check land access and mining/fossicking rules before you dig.

CarPlay

Why does it route me to the start of the route, not along it?

The saved route is an off-road bush track that road-based turn-by-turn cannot drive. CarPlay gets you to the trailhead by road. The track itself is for on the ground.

Where do routes come from?

Plan them on dighere.com.au/route, then Sync in the phone app. They then appear in CarPlay.

Does it avoid closed roads?

Directions use Apple's routing, which respects road closures and restrictions known in Apple's map data at the time the route is calculated. It does not live-reroute mid-drive the way Apple Maps does. If a closure appears after you have started, restart guidance to recalculate.

Can I choose between routes?

Yes. Drive to start shows a preview with the fastest and alternative routes (distance and time each). Pick the one you want.

The map is not moving or is zoomed out.

Live follow and street-level zoom begin once you confirm Go. The preview stage shows the overview.

No routes appear.

You have no saved routes on this account, or the phone has not synced. Plan a route on the website and tap Sync in the phone app.

Is CarPlay guidance a safety guarantee?

No. It is a navigation aid to the trailhead. Drive to conditions and follow all road and land-access rules.

Field navigation aid only. Carry a map and compass. Map data © Mapbox © OpenStreetMap. LiDAR terrain © Dig Here.
