History

The Divide sits between the Rubyvale and Sapphire fossicking areas in the Central Queensland Gemfields. It takes its name from the watershed divide between creek systems draining the gemfield.

Like the surrounding gemfields, it has produced sapphires for over a century.

What You Can Find

Sapphires and zircon are found in alluvial wash, similar to the nearby Sapphire and Rubyvale areas.
