History

Duck Creek is a designated fossicking land in the Queensland boulder opal belt, north of Yowah. The area has produced boulder opal from the Cretaceous-age ironstone concretions that characterise the opal belt.

Boulder opal in ironstone concretions. Similar geology and opal type to the Yowah and Opalton fields.

Located north-west of Cunnamulla via unsealed roads. 4WD recommended.

Camping

Bush camping only. No facilities. Carry all supplies.
