History

Durikai State Forest is a general permission area on the Darling Downs west of Warwick. The granite intrusions in the state forest have produced topaz, quartz crystals, and occasional beryl.

What You Can Find

Topaz crystals in decomposed granite. Quartz crystals and occasional beryl (aquamarine) are also found.

Surface collecting and shallow digging in weathered granite outcrops are the main methods.
