History

Durikai State Forest is a general permission area on the Darling Downs west of Warwick. The forest covers alluvial gold country along creek systems draining the surrounding hills.

What You Can Find

Alluvial gold can be obtained from sediments within stream channels, from gravel layers in low banks, and from crevices in rock bars.

From Warwick, head west towards Pratten and then south into the state forest. Unsealed roads.

Camping

Bush camping permitted in the state forest. No facilities. Carry water.
