History
Four Mile East is one of a pair of general permission areas (with Four Mile West) named after their distance from the original Clermont settlement. The Four Mile diggings were among the most productive during the Clermont gold rush.
What You Can Find
Alluvial gold in creek gravels. The Four Mile area historically produced some of the coarser gold from the Clermont field.

Located north-west of Clermont. Access via unsealed roads.
