History
Reward is a designated fossicking land in the western part of the Central Queensland Gemfields. Named after the Reward mining claim, it has been producing sapphires since the early days of the gemfields.
What You Can Find
Sapphires and zircon in alluvial wash material. Hand tools and sieves are the standard approach.
Getting There
Located west of Sapphire township via local unsealed roads. High-clearance vehicle recommended.
Camping
No facilities on site. Camping and accommodation available in the gemfield towns.
